This guide will give you a small overview on how dungeons work and some tips and tricks for smooth adventureing into them.
Dungeons are a special content in safe and lethal zones. There are three types of them.
A dungeon in the wild has the same tier as the zone it is in. For exmple a dungeon in a tier 5 zone, is filled with monsters of the same tier.
Treasures you can find vary from tier-2 (often) to up to tier+2(rare). This means in a T5 dungeon you can find Item loot from T3 up to T7.
Sometimes dungeons in the wild have butterflies around it. There are 4 different types of butterflies:
Groupsize: 1-2
Party setup: none needed. You can brute force it.
Solodungeons are a relaxed way to farm them. Once the first person enters you have 90 seconds, then it will disappear from the overworld map and you can dive it relaxed. This is special useful in lethal zones.
Group size: 5-7
Party setup:
In any lethality it is quite simple:
Step 1: The tank engages and pulls the mobs together with the aircompressor
Step 2: Tank holds the aggro while the DPS unleash damage to the mobs from the backline
Step 3: Healer heals only the tank.
The Spotter / Backup stays a bit behind but close enough to get the fame. The job of the spotter is to warn the party in front of him in case there is an enemy party comming from behind. As a spotter in lethal, your chance of dieing is high. So in case you die it is common courtesy, that if the main party survives, you will be compensated by them.
Thetford Capes have the lightning strike ability, which will do a chain lightning on a target. These attacks from the cape tend to reset the aggro of the mobs and then the mobs attack the DPS or healer
The tank should always engage to take aggro, that is his job. If a DPS pulls aggro... the DPS will most likely die.
The E of the Demonic staff, scares away mobs and players alike. Don't use it as main DPS, but you can bring it as Spotter or Backup.
If the tank does his job right, he will be the main target of 90% of the aggro and damage. Be kind to your tanks and either switch around or pay some silver for repair compensation to the tank. You surely made enought to help him out.
Group size: 15 to 20 + scouts and backup
Avalonian Dungeons can only be found in the Black Zones and preset a special challenge for guilds that want to do it. They emit a humming sound.
They offer immense rewards but bear a lot of risks. A detailed guide on how they work will follow once we are ready for it.
There is a special guide in planning for this kind of content, once we are doing them.
