¶ How to do a content ping?
This guide will help you to do a proper content ping for the things you'd like to do.
¶ Planning
Out of experience planning ahead of time is always a good idea. Before you start your game, get the ping ready and set the times for you to enjoy.
Things to think of:
- When will you start?
- What content will you do?
- What's the maximum amount of players you are looking for?
- Lethal or non lethal?
- minimum IP requirements?
¶ Time
Lets start of with the time you want to play at.
Due to us being in different timezones, stating you want to play at time X is a bit troublesome at some times.
There is the website called https://hammertime.cyou/
It helps you create so called timestamps. All you need to do there, is to set the time and date and you will get timestamps that look like these:
¶ Create the Ping
Once you have the Timestamp you go to wizard-tower and start writing your ping.
You can find a list of all content pings and what they are for in the channel content-roles

Greetings fellow guildmates!
I am looking for [put content ping here]I am starting at [put time stamp here]
Join me in my voice channel and lets have fun!
Once you hit enter, everyone with the content ping will get a notification. The timestamp will translate into the local time of the user seeing it.
¶ When to use a content ping and when to ask for an event?
¶ Do a content ping
- only once per day, so your fellow guildmates don't get overpinged
- do it close to the time you want to play. (30 minutes beforehand is quite a good time)
- Don't be discouraged if people don't join. Real life always comes first.
¶ Ask for an event
- when you plan more than 24 hours ahead
- when certain signups are required
- to get reminders automatically
Any Adept or higher can make you the event. Just ask in wizard-tower for it.
