Streaming and Recording is an integrated part of todays gaming structure. Dignity of War allows you to stream, but you need to make people aware you are doing so.
None of the below rules apply when you are going "Live" on Discord via the Screen share feature. You can freely use that with no restrictions.
We have general rules for streaming in this whole community. The following rules will ensure a smooth and easy streaming experience for everyone involved.
You must obtain consent from your fellow DIGlets to start streaming in a channel. You must strictly adhere to these rules.
"Streaming" constitutes as streaming to a public service such as Twitch, YouTube and any other form of streaming platform.
Again, this does not apply to Discord screen sharing.
If you do solo content it never is a problem, you can stream as much as you like. But once you want to stream group content, the following steps must be done:
Stream sniping is a thing and our veteran players have been a target in the past. Therefore we insist on at least 5 (better 10-15) minutes delay on your live stream if you want to do it.
Specific DIG games may have their own rules concerning streaming, and it may also vary by activity. Please check with your game's leadership.
You must let people know that you are Streaming. The best way to do so is by creating a channel with the Join to create channels guide and have "live" or "streaming" at the start of the name. This way joiners can decide if they want to join or not.
If you start mid session you must ask for consent of all players present. Some people don't want their voice being broadcasted to the world. Only if all users in the call give their consent, then you can stream live with a delay.
Sometimes it can be useful to record your gameplay. This is in the form of Shadowplay via Nvidia, Radeon ReLive and more lately Steam's Recordings feature. You do not need to directly announce you are using these features, as nowadays they are so commonplace running in the background people will forget they're running or simply not care.
Recording members and sharing clips internally is fully allowed, with no consent required from DIG members.
However as soon as you share clips outside of DIG, you need to ensure you have consent from your fellow community members.
For this you still need to do the following steps:
It does not matter what content you do, you have to show that you are recording your game session.
The best way to do so is by creating a channel with the Join to create channel and have "rec" or "recording" at the start of the name.
This way joiners can decide if they want to join or not.
Consent rule applies. Any members contained within recordings you must obtain consent from if theirn voice is present in the recording.
In return for us providing you content to record or stream, we ask you to mention our community and maybe share our invite link in case people want to join in on the fun we have.

The Dignity of War community offers a special service called a streaming alert. Everyone who wants to be alerted, will be once you upload a video or start streaming.
Please reach out to community staff so we can set up the alert for you.
As sad as it is, some people do not follow the rules mentioned in here. If you don't follow and broadcast without consent the following things will happen:
You will be warned once.
If you continue to break the rules, you will be removed from the Community.
